iRest ® Yoga Nidra

Restorative Yoga

Yoga for Emotional Wellness

iRest® Yoga Nidra is a process of meditative self-inquiry derived from the ancient teachings of yoga. When practiced regularly - a little and often - iRest enables us to meet each moment of life with unshakable peace and wellbeing, no matter how challenging or difficult our situations. In scientific trials, iRest has been shown to be effective for conditions including chronic pain, sleep problems, depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Yoga nidra is traditionally practiced in a lying down position but may also be done seated if that is more comfortable. Props will be provided for added comfort and support.

Restorative Yoga involves resting in supportive postures designed to engage the parasympathetic nervous system (rest & digest response) and release tensions held in the body. Restorative yoga offers an opportunity for respite from external stimuli and unity of the body and breath in the present moment. 

Yoga for Emotional Wellness encompasses a variety of techniques designed to connect us with the inner knowing of who and what we truly are when we are free of psychological, cultural and philosophical conditioning. Techniques include the following: 

·     asanas—steady, pleasant and relaxed body positions, 

·     meditation—resting the mind in a manner that is clear, relaxed, and focused &

·     pranayama—breathing in ways that soothe, cleanse, calm, or energize the body and mind.

Directions

Zenna Wellness Studio is now at the HEALING ARTS CENTER, 617 Franklin Ave, Berlin, MD. 

The building is on the EAST side of Route 113 (north bound lane), ACROSS the highway from Apple Drugs. 

When you turn onto Franklin Ave, take a Left onto a gravel driveway about 500 ft from the highway. 

Drive to the BACK of the building with the solar panels on the roof. 

Main Entrance is at the loading dock, you can park there if there’s an open space. There is a ramp to the Entrance Door. 

Once inside the building, walk to the first main hallway on the right. Zenna Wellness Studio is in on the right.
